About this site
Who we are, why we started this site, and how we're funded.
Better Mouth Tapes is written by our editorial team. Our guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, and every source is opened and checked against what we cite it for before publishing. The site covers what breathing through your nose does at night, what the research says about mouth tape and nasal strips, and how to try them if they suit you.
Better Mouth Tapes is an independent guide, not a mouth tape brand. We don't make or sell tape, and we aren't affiliated with Better Mouth Tape (bettermouthtape.com), a separate company with a similar name.
How we check sources
Every guide is built from sources we can link to: published studies (mostly found through PubMed), guidance from bodies like the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the NHS, and hospital health libraries such as Cleveland Clinic. Before a guide goes live, each source is opened and read to confirm it says what we cite it for, down to the numbers. If a claim can't be matched to a source, it's cut. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom and carries an evidence rating that reflects how strong the research is, including when that's "limited". When we find a mistake after publishing, we fix it and log it on our corrections page.
What we cover
The site has four sections: nasal breathing, mouth tape, nasal strips and sleep, which covers snoring, dry mouth and waking up tired.
How we're funded
We're a paid partner of Titan Recovery. Their ads are labeled. The disclosure page has the details.
